The Downtown on St-Catherine's used to be a pretty good strip club. Open on weekday afternoons. Not pretentious. Just seedy enough.

You'd walk up, wave aside the guy waving down people on the street.

Walk upstairs.

Give two or three bucks to the 'placier', whose job at that time was irrelevant because you were the only person there. But you respect the rules.

A waitress comes, half-expecting you to be a lost tourist. You order a beer, they get a girl onstage.

You open the beer.
